Q: What kind of photographs do you take?

A: I take portraits.  Specifically family portraits, newborn, engagement, self-promotional photos (think yoga teacher starting out and needing promo photos for their website, real estate agents, etc), and artists: musicians, painters, etc.  I also do small parties and luncheons but I don’t do weddings at this time. However, I can point you toward some great wedding photographers here in Atlanta.

Q: Where do you do your shoots?

A: Anywhere you want!  I always suggest that wherever we meet, it’s somewhere special and unique to you: where you had your first date, your family’s favorite park, your baby’s nursery, your studio, your garden or maybe just sitting on the couch in your living room.  We’ll meet, usually in the morning or early afternoon and we’ll figure out where the best light is.  After a few test shots I’ll just start shooting away.  It’s a lot of fun and I like to try out a few different locations for variety’s sake.  We can start indoors then take it outside too!  I’m just that crazy.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Be comfortable.  It’s in my experience that if you’re uncomfortable in that dress suit and tie, your pictures will reflect that.  Don’t be afraid of color and layers always look nice.  Casual is great.  Colors can make a huge difference in how your photos turn out.  In other words, the more color, the better!  Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine.  If you’d like to bring an extra change of clothes for variety, by all means!

Q: Do you use props?

A: I don’t supply props but if there’s something you’d like to bring into the photos, let’s do it!  When shooting artists, it’s common for us to capture you in the studio using your brushes, tools and instruments.  With infants there are always toys involved, mostly to get their attention :).  I find that the less you plan things out, the easier magic is made on it’s own!

Q: What are your rates?

A: I offer three types of sessions and the rate structure is pretty simple.

The Mini-Session:  $300 for 20 high-res, edited images on a dvd and sent to you by mail within 2 weeks of our shoot.  You will receive a full rights statement to reproduce the images although I will still hold the copyright therefore photos are not allowed to be sold or entered into competition without permission. Mini sessions are great for holiday cards, birth announcements, save the dates or if you just want something quick and simple to upload to your Facebook or LinkedIn profile!  The mini session takes around 30-45 minutes.

The Full Session:  $500 for 40 high-res, edited images on a dvd and sent to you by mail within 2 weeks of our shoot.  You will receive a full rights statement to reproduce the images although I will still hold the copyright therefore photos are not allowed to be sold or entered into competition without permission. The full session takes around 60 minutes.

NEW!!  The Party-Session:  $850 for 100 high-res, edited images on a dvd and sent to you by mail within 3 weeks of our shoot.  You will receive a full rights statement to reproduce the images although I will still hold the copyright therefore photos are not allowed to be sold or entered into competition without permission.  The Party Session is a wonderful way to document your child’s special birthday party and all those priceless moments that take place!

I also offer high-quality, professional prints a la carte for an additional charge and with a minimum $20 print order.  Please see my Prints Page for details.  For holiday cards and invitations,  Tiny Prints is great.  I use them every year for our Christmas cards.  Pinhole Press is said to be wonderful if you’d like to have photo books and albums made.  I personally haven’t used them yet but I’ve always heard great things and I can’t wait to try them out.

Q: How do I pay?  And do you give refunds?

A: Full payment is due by the date of our shoot.   You can pay with cash, by Paypal or with a check.  As much as I’d like to be as accommodating as possible by offering refunds, it just isn’t economically feasible for me to do so.  From the time it takes for our shoot, to the hours of editing in post-production, there is just too much time involved.  It is my hope that after seeing the work on my website, my photography style has been portrayed and you know what you’re getting.  It’s my greatest intention that we have a blast and that your portraits are going to make you very happy!  This is what I love to do and I want to bring you that same excitement.

Q: What happens if I need to reschedule?

A: Of course I know “life happens”.  People get sick, babies get sleepy, it rains (or in Georgia, we have the occasional downpour).  We can always play it by ear and if we need to reschedule that’s no problem at all.

Q: I’m excited now and I want to book!  How do I contact you?

A: Great!!  Feel free to contact me (Sarah) using the contact form, e-mailing me at hellosaraha@gmail.com, or call me at 404-668-2838.  I can’t wait to hear from you!
